Confirmation of Booking

You will receive an email confirmation for your appointment with a “Confirm” Link. You can click the link and it will confirm your appointment automatically.  We will also call to confirm your appointment.  We cannot reserve appointments that are not confirmed.

Cancellation Policy

A credit card is required to hold your appointment. We require a 24 hour notice to cancel any appointment. This applies to all no-show, cancelled, or rescheduled reservations with less than 24 hour notice.

How to Cancel


Appointments may be cancelled online up to 24 hours in advance.  Click the cancel button on the confirmed reservation section or call 201.340.4514 to cancel/reschedule your appointment.

Cancelling or Missing an appointment with less than 24 hours notice impacts our opportunity to service other clients and will result in a cancellation charge.

Credit Cards


Please be advised that a credit card may be required to secure your reservation. We accept Amex, Visa (debit/credit), Mastercard, Discover. We do not accept tips on credit cards.

Online Profiles

By creating an online profile/providing your contact info with Substance Salon, you have willingly elected to receive confirmation emails and text message notifications about salon news/updates.  By accepting your appointment you agree to these terms and these forms of contact.

Gratuities

All gratuities must be paid in cash. Often times our guests ask how much they should tip? The industry standard is 15-20%.

PARKING

Kip Avenue Parking lot directly behind our building and access to the salon from the rear.  Street meter parking is also permitted on Park Avenue, Orient way and nearby cross streets.

  • Let's get right to the point:  Manny has killer skills.  Not only did he ask all the right questions about what I liked and DIDN'T like about my hair; he has the experience and talent to know what will and WON'T work with YOU.  The man makes it personal.  You are not sheeple; you are not a means to his paycheck.  He's a professional, and yeah, an artist in his own right.  The proof is in the end result, and with the end result I could not have been happier.  Normally I bring a hat with me to pop on after a cut, just in case I don't like the way it was styled, or just in case it's an absolute disaster.  I've worn that hat PLENTY of times.  I'm happy to say I did not need the hat.  In fact, I was stoked when I left.  That's a rarity kids. -Yelp
